Idea Cellular launches self care app ‘My idea’ for Android, iOS, now it also finally launched for its user on windows Phone. The app lets users manage their Idea accounts right through the app. It offers many features like payment of bill through credit or debit cards, make prepaid recharges by yourself, also you can raise a service request, and activate traffic plans through the App.

Idea Cellular plans to roll out 4G service by early next year, Idea Cellular has bagged 4G licences in 11 circles, including Maharashtra and Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Mumbai, Andhra, Karnataka, Kerala, the North-East, Gujarat and Haryana.

At present, 3G services cover 275 million people and may potentially expand to 750 million in a few years, with the expansion in 3G and launch of 4G services.

Vodafone mobile phone network performance in India

Vodafone India formerly known as Vodafone Essar and Hutchison Essar (1992-2007) founded in 1994 headquartered in Mumbai. Vodafone India is the 2nd largest Mobile network operator in India with roughly 184 million subscribers as of April 2015. The Ownership shared to Essar Group 33% and Vodafone 67%. Vodafone uses technology of GSM, EDGE, and HSPA in India.

It offers both prepaid and postpaid GSM cellular phone coverage throughout India with better performance.  It provides services using GSM technology as the basis of 900 MHz and 1800 MHz.

Vodafone India launched 3G services in the country in the January–March quarter of 2011 and plans to spend up to $500 million within two years on its 3G networks. Vodafone is the second largest player in telecom operator in India afterAirtel, with a market share of 22.95%.

The Mobile Service provided by Vodafone is 3G, M-Pesa. For 3G service, Vodafone paid 11617.86 million for specturm in 9 circles including delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kolkata, Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai, Tamilnadu, Uttar pradesh (East) and West Bengal. After launching in Uttar pradesh, it was the fifith private operator in the country, following Tata Docomo, Reliance Communications, Airtel, and Aircel.

M-Pesa customers can deposit and withdraw money from a network of agents that includes airtime resellers and retail outlets acting as banking agents. The service enables its users to

  • deposit and withdraw money
  • transfer money to other users and non-users
  • pay bills
  • purchase airtime

Vodafone plans to rollout this service throughout India. The user needs to register for this service by paying 100 Rupees, on which 25 Rupees will be credited back to the users account and there are charges levied per M-Pesa transaction for money transfer services and DTH and Prepaid recharges can be done through m-pesa for free.

Vodafone launches the plan and it is successfully growing. It provides more features for users, they can send money, Prepaid recharge, DTH recharge, Withdraw money and Vodafone Postpaid.

Vodafone has already announced its plan to launch 4G by the year-end in markets such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi.

Reliance Communications mobile network review

Reliance Communications is an Indian Internet access and telecommunications company, head quartered in Navi Mumbai, India. It was founded in 2002 by Dhirubhai Ambani. It has established a pan-India, high-capacity, integrated (wireless and wireline), convergent (voice, data and video) digital network, to offer services spanning the entire infocomm value chain.

It provides CDMA, GSM mobile services, fixed line broadband and voice services, DTH depending upon the areas of operation. It has Voice, 2G and 3G services.

Reliance Communications is the fourth largest telecom operator in India with 109.80 million subscribers as of April 2015. Reliance Communications had 33.7 million data customers in which 17.4 millions are 3G customers and 16.3 millions are 2G customers as per July 2015.

Reliance had 3G Customers than 2G Customers. It is the only Indian dual technology operator(GSM, CDMA) nation wise. Also it uses some other technologies for various purpose like CDMA2000, EVDO REV.B, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, HSPA+, WiMAX. The market share of Reliance Communication is 11.84% as of September 2014.

The reason why the customers is more for 3G service is, because the Reliance announced the price reduction of 61% on 3G services.  In 2011, Reliance provided up to 28 Mbit per second data rate in India with its MIMO technology. So the number of users raised to use 3G services.

Also Reliance provides 3G services in Uttar Pradesh East through Aircel’s 3G network and in Uttar Pradesh West through Tata Docomo’s 3G network. It also allows Tata Docomo customers to roam on Reliance’s network in Delhi, where Tata Docomo does not operate.

Reliance Netconnect service offers you Hi-speed wireless internet access across India. Reliance’s cutting edge CDMA 1x network can give you high-speed internet access, up to 144kbps.

Reliance offers Hi-Speed 1x service through a suite of Reliance Netconnect products like PCMCIA and USB Modem data cards as well as data cables for mobile phones and fixed wireless phones. Using this you can connect the internet through the laptops or desktop.Reliance has many features like Better surfing speeds, Upto four times faster speeds than dial-up, SMS and voice services. ALos it offers more traffic charge plans for both prepaid and postpaid service.

Number of employees in Reliance is 8500. 2.8 million retail outlets are available in India. The net income is 6.72 billion as of 2014. The Cheif Executive (CEO) is Gurdeep Singh.

Review BSNL mobile phone network service in India

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is an Indian telecommunications company, head quartered in New Delhi, India. It was founded in 15th September 2000.  BSNL is the India’s largest and oldest communication service provider in India and 5thlargest mobile telephony provider with 12 crores subscribers as of June 2015, its Indian state Government owned enterprise.

BSNL provides technology such as GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, HSPA+m  CDMA, WiMAX, WiFi. It has footprints  throughout India except for the metropolitan cities of Mumbai and New Delhi, which are managed by Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL).

BSNL offers both fixed line and mobile services with broadband connections. Also it provides both 2G, 3G and Postpaid , prepaid mobile services in India. In BSNL mobile service, it offers a host of value added  service like voice mail, SMS, Roaming, Call forwarding, call conferencing etc. All India roaming facility is also available on BSNL mobile prepaid service.

BSNL provides almost every telecom service in India. Some of the main services like Internet, Market share, 3G, HelpDesk, Wi-Max, BSNL Landlines etc. For 3G service, BSNL paid the Indian Government Rs. 101.87 billion for 3G specturm coverage. It offers coverage in over 800 cities across India as of 2011.

BSNL offering applications like video telephony, mobile broadband, mobile television and video-on demand to users. In the future, users can expect the launch of services like music downloads, video tones, instant messaging, online gaming, bill payment and more.

BSNL launched in 2012 a 3G wireless pocket router named Winknet Mf50. It was released in collaboration with Shyam Networks. It enables the connection of multiple devices to the internet using a single SIM Card.

BSNL 3G provides HSPA+ service with highest speed of 21.1 Mbit/s downlink and 5.76 Mbit/s uplink.

BSNL launches Mobile Wallet with cash withdrawal option on July 2015 in New Delhi. It allow its customers to transfer money, pay for services as well as withdraw cash of up to Rs. 1 lakh. The Wallet Service, Speed Pay, allows a customer to load money even if he does not have a bank account.The money loaded in the mobile wallet can be transferred to a bank account and even withdrawn at bank branches or at BSNL outlets. BSNL has launched the service in partnership with IT company Pyro.

BSNL Speed Pay card service will be available in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu by the end of September.

BSNL also launched entertainment service BSNL Buzz in partnership with Celltick.

Using this service, BSNL customer using the feature on smartphone can subscribe to various contents like news, jokes, contest etc for Rs. 10 per month. The service also deliver location based information services in seven languages including Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu.

 

How is Aircel mobile network service in India and review

Aircel

Aircel is an Indian mobile network operator, headquartered in Chennai. It offers voice, 2G, 3G and 4G data service. The Company has currently gained a momentum in the space of telecom in India post the allocation of additional spectrum by the Department of Telecom, Govt. of India for 13 new circles across India.These include Delhi (Metro), Mumbai (Metro), Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra & Goa, Rajasthan, Punjab, UP (West) and UP (East).

Aircel is the sixth largest Mobile network operator in India  with a subscriber base of 82.01 million as of April 2015. Aircel Provides Technology of GSM, EDGE, and HSDPA. Aircel founded in 1999 by Maxis Communications and shared to Apollo Hospital (26%). This is the leading mobile operator in Tamil Nadu, North-East and Assam.

The Services provided by Aircel is 3G and 4G. For 3G, it paid 65,000 million for spectrum in 13 circles across India. Aircel has introduced new price plans for its consumers and are termed to be the cheapest in the country. Aircel became the launch partner for Apple iPhone 4 along with Bharti Airtel as of 2011.

For 4G service, Aircel paid 34380 million for acquiring wirless broadband specturm in Eight Circle across India, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, North East,Orissa, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

In August 2014, Aircel launches 4G services in Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir, becoming the only private telecom operator to offer all the three existing technologies of 2G, 3G and 4G in these markets.  Later, Aircel launched 4G services in four circles including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha.

Aircel relaunched its service in Kerala as of April 2015. Aircel provides more offers and traffic charges plan like Talktime, Free SMS, Local call, STD Call etc. Aircel announces new cheapest 3G plans,so the data charge is reduced by 50%. Now it’s possible to access 1GB data at just Rs. 128. And also unlimited downloading data at just Rs 27.  Aircel rolled out new affordable 3G Pocket Internet plans across the 3G circles for all prepaid subscribers.

The Market share is 8.15 as of September 2014. Aircel company has about 800 employees.

Aircel has launched ‘Design your own plan’, a new online service, which enables prepaid and postpaid subscriber to create a plan of their own choice. It enables users to customize their plans across calling, texting and surfing using the Plan Designer tool. Customers can also redesign the plan or add extra packs for calling or SMS depending on their needs.

Airtel launched ‘MyPlan’, a similar service for postpaid subscribers last year. Aircel’s new service is a bit different from it. This lets you choose how much you use Calling service, SMS or data and finally gives you a plan once you finished.

Review Tata DOCOMO mobile phone network service in India

Tata Teleservices operates under five different brands – Tata Indicom (CDMA services), Tata DOCOMO (GSM services), Virgin Mobile, Tata Walky (it is the brand for fixed wireless phones), Tata Photon (the company’s brand that provides a variety of options for wireless mobile broadband access) and T24.

Tata DOCOMO is an Indian cellular service provider on the GSM, CDMA and this is the Joint venture telecommunication service founded in November 2008, Head quartered in New Delhi, India. It is the  sixth largest operator in the country .

Tata DOCOMO is one of the fast growing network.On 2015 spectrum auction Tata DOCOMO won 10 mhz frequency bandwidth in TamilNadu circle. Tata DOCOMO operates in 19 telecom circles and offers services on GSM and CDMA platforms.

DOCOMO provides services throughout India and also it offers both prepaid and postpaid cellular phone  services. It has became more popular in semi-urban and rural areas. Tata DOCOMO holds 26.5% in Tata Teleservices.  Tata DOCOMO had about 42.34 million users as of December 2010. As soon, it increases the subscriber base upto 90.09 million. 

It has became the first private sector telecom company to launch 3G services in India. For 3G mobile service, DOCOMO paid 6964.29 crores for spectrum and obtained licences in 9 circles including Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra & Goa, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh (West).

Both DOCOMO and Aircel entered into a roaming agreement for 3G services to jointly roll out 3G networks in the three circles where they both have coverage (Karnataka, Kerala, and Punjab).  After that, the Department of Telecom said that such 3G arrangements were illegal, So that DOCOMO ended its agreement with Aircel as of December 14, 2011. Tata DOCOMO customers use Reliance GSM’s 3G network when they are on roaming in Delhi.

DOCOMO had about 1.5 million 3G subscribers as of May 2011. DOCOMO plans to shut down the postpaid services in three circles including, Rajasthan, Bihar and Rest of Best Bengal (except Kolkata).

Tata DOCOMO has announced the launch of a new low priced plan of Rs.201 which will allow customers to design a unique plan best suited for their needs. It allows customers to build their own plan based on their usage pattern.

 

Review Uninor mobile network service in India

Uninor is an Indian mobile network operator headquartered in Gurgaon with 32.30 million subscribers at the end of October 2013. It provides technology of GSM, EDGE in the main states of India. The company has 2,000 employees in 2011. Uninor founded in 2009 by Telenor Group with share of (67.25%) and Unitech Group (32.75%). It has more than 375,000 retailer outlets in India. Telenor now owns 100% of the stake in Telenor India Communications Pvt Ltd.

Telewings offers mobile voice and data services based on the GSM technology, on 5 MHz spectrum. Telenor services are commercially available in 6 circles, covering a population footprint of 600 million people.

It serves more than 30 million customers in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. The mobile service provider targets more on youth and other communities within the Indian Market.Recently, Spectrum auctions Telenor secured fresh spectrum in 4 of its existing circles and in a new circle of Assam. Spectrum acquired by Uninor in the 1800Mhz band.

Uninor offers both prepaid and postpaid mobile services. It provides more offers like extra talktime offer, SMS pack, Full talktime etc. It also provides network services like 2G and 3G packs.

Network coverage in various state,

In Andhra Pradesh, it covers 185 cities/towns, 23 district and 2736 villages.

In Bihar, it covers 243  cities/towns, 61 district and 8148 villages.

In Gujarat, it covers 234 cities/towns, 25 district and 1896 villages.

In Maharastra & Goa, it covers 360 cities/towns,  35 district and 2665  villages.

In Uttar Pradesh (East), it covers 365 cities/towns,  46 district and 32146  villages.

In Uttar Pradesh (West), it covers 363 cities/towns,  28 district and 9091  villages.

The Market Share of Uninor is 4.50%.  Telenor India has now launched a self-care app to cater their valued users across the nation. This app allow users to recharge prepaid accounts, track service requests, subscribe to the best offers, and etc. The App is accessible only through Android Platform.

This App allows some real-time integration with Telenor systems to access several information such as Last call charges, recharge, and data consumption. Review MTS India mobile phone network service

MTS India

 Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) , is the Indian subdivision ofTelecommunication Company of Russian Mobile Telesystems headquatered in New Delhi with 16 million customers as on 2012. . It provides wireless voice, broadband Internet, messaging and data services in India.  MTS provides technology of CDMA, EVDO to main states of India. The ownership shared to Sistema (56.68%), Shyam Group (23.98%), and Russian Governement (17.14%).

MTS provides both 2G and 3G Mobile data services and also postpaid, prepaid services are available. MTS launched Mblaze, EVDO Rev A based high-speed mobile broadband service. MTS MBlaze have its coverage in 100+ cities as of February 2011. It announced the national broadband plan envisages provision of 160 million broadband connection including 60 million wireless broadband connection by the year of 2014.

MTS 3G Plus was announced with the name of MTS Mblaze Ultra, which is capable of having high speed downlink of 9.8 Mbit/s. First it was started with Jaipur, after followed by some metro and other cities of India

In 2013, it announced, its roll out plan of its 3GPLUS network in 9 circles including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh (West) and West Bengal.

At present the 3GPLUS services are limited to data cards and MiFi devices only. MTS also offers 3GPLUS supported smartphones.  Mblaze Ultra dongles are available at the price of Rs. 1299 for both prepaid and postpaid customers. According to the company, the dongle provides data speeds of up to 9.8 Mbps.

To use the new dongle, prepaid customers have to pay Rs. 1,399 to get an MBlaze Ultra dongle bundled with 10GB of data, with 30 days of validity from the date of activation. Already existing postpaid users, can use Mblaze Ultra dongle for  Rs. 750. The tariff plan Charges will range from Rs. 798 to Rs. 1498 for prepaid subscribers and Rs. 700 to Rs. 1,399 for postpaid customers.

Also MTS rolled out net-neutral internet calling plans for both prepaid and postpaid customers. It offers data for Internet calling. Using this, Customers can use the data for making internet calls using any internet calling application of their choice, be it over WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, Twitter, Flickr etc. As per the plan, users can opt to use 5GB data for 5000 minutes of internet calls. The 5000 minutes of internet call guarantee for 5GB data is calculated basis using the standard voice codecs.

 

Videocon Telecom mobile network service review

Videocon Telecom is an Indian Cellular service provider, it offers GSM mobile service in India. Videocon telecommunication is owned by Videocon Group headquartered in Mumbai with 3.24 million subscribers at the end of 2013. It provides GSM, GPRS and EDGE technology for the subscribers. The company is a subsidiary of Videocon Industries, and is headquartered at Gurgaon,Haryana. 

Videocon held licences to provide mobile services in 18 out of 22 telecom circles of India. However, Videocon launched commercial services only in 11 out of the 18 circles it held licences in. In 2008, 122 licences was cancelled by the 2G spectrum scam. After that, Videocon won back licences in 6 circles in 2012. The Market Share is 0.64% in the year of September 2014.

It provides postpaid, prepaid and roaming services. In prepaid Services it provides Get Going, Base Tariff Plan, Special Tariff Vouchers, Combo Vouchers, Paper Recharge, Special Top Ups, Top Ups, SMS Tariff Vouchers, Plan Vouchers, SUK 11. Also it offers many call traiff plans like voice calls, Ratecutter and Local, STD calls etc.

Videocon Telecom also provides some Value added services such as, Roaming, CRBT, Videocon Music, Music Downloads, Mobile DATA, Videocon Internet, Mobile Banking, Short codes and special characters.
Videocon Telecom competes with 10 other mobile operators in India including Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, MTNL, MTS, Reliance Communications, Tata DoCoMo, Idea,Uninor and Vodafone.
Videocon Telecom plans to invest Rs 1,200 crore over three years on launch of 4G services in three circles. The services will be launched in Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West) and Bihar across 29 cities, according to a company statement.It will roll out 4G services in six cities in phase 1, 12 cities in phase 2 and another 11 cities in phase 3. The company is working closely with  their consulting partner (Deloitte) and technology partner (Huawei) in its existing operations.
Videocon Telecom holds 5Mhz liberalized spectrum in the 1800 MHz band in these circles plans to utilize the entire spectrum for rollout of 4G LTE services in selected cities and offer voice on overlay network in these key cities.

Airtel founded in 7th July 1995 by Sunil Bharti Mittal and head quartered in New Delhi, India. This is the 2nd largest mobile operator in the world and India’s Largest GSM Service with Technology of GSM, EDGE, and HSPA. Airtel provides GSM, 3G and 4G LTE mobile services, fixed line broadband and voice services depending upon the country of operation.

Airtel is the largest mobile operator in South Asia and the third largest in the world with a 303 million subscriber base.  Bharti Airtel Limited is part of Bharti Enterprises and is headed by Sunil Bharti Mittal. The company is structured into four strategic business units – mobile, telemedia, enterprise and digital TV. Number of permanent full time and part time employees working in Airtel is 24.67k.

Airtel is the first Indian telecom service provider to achieve Cisco Gold Certification. It also acts as a carrier for national and international long distance data communication service. Airtel is the market leader in India with about 228.25 million Subscribers with a market share of 23.25% in the Indian wireless market at the end of April 2015 and growing.

Bharti Airtel operates in all telecom service in India. It has mobile services like 3G and 4G. For 3G services, Airtel won licences in 13 telecom circles of India including  Delhi, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, North East, and Jammu & Kashmir. It also operates 3G services in Maharastra, Goa and kolkata circles through an agreement with Vodafone and in Gujarat through an agreement with Idea Cellular.

For 4G, Airtel paid 33.143 billion for spectrum in four circles including Maharashtra and Goa, Karnataka, Punjab and Kolkata. Airtel launches 4G services through Dongles and Modems using TD-LTE technology in Kolkata. It is the first company in India to offer the 4G service.

Airtel launched 4G services on mobile from February 2014. Bangalore is first city to get the service. After it was started their 4G services in Karnal and Yamunanagar in Haryana. Airtel 4G trials has been started in Delhi from 18 June 2015.  Airtel had 1,20,000 4G subscribers as of May 2014. Later, Airtel provides its 4G service coverage in 36 cities.

Airtel offers both prepaid and postpaid services for their customer. It provides more features like, Strong network coverage, Call Management Service, Voice Mail, SMS, MMS, and also it provides more Recharge options.  Using Airtel Wifi Service, users can use the service by finding a hotspot and by selecting the ‘airtel WiFi Zone’.  Also the Airtel Money is an important service, using this users can transfer money, pay bills and perform other financial transactions directly on the mobile phone.
